Mark your calendar for the WBW Christmas meeting

REMINDER: It is a WBW tradition that no one goes hungry at Christmas so we will be collecting items for the Food Bank and for our four legged friends at the Humane Society.

BIO:
Patricia Matthews, Mayor of Chestermere, was born and raised in Manitoba.  She moved to Ottawa to    attend Carleton University and spent 5 years working for various technology companies including G.E. Capital.   In 1994 Patricia and her husband Ian moved to Calgary where she worked for Lexmark/IBM as a Territory Manager before starting her own I.T. training company.

Since 1998 she, Ian and their two daughters have happily resided in Chestermere where she has always been an active member and advocate of the community.   Patricia had been volunteering for community events, programs at the local schools, and campaigning for the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Chestermere for many years before becoming interested in local politics.

In 2004 Patricia was elected as a Town Councillor and in 2007 she won the race for full-time Mayor of the Town of Chestermere.  In the 2010 election she was acclaimed. Currently Patricia also serves on many Boards and Committees including Chestermere Utilities Incorporated and the Calgary Regional Partnership as Vice-Chair.
